Is it worth paying the extra cash for the 2014 version if the S Pen is all I want really to take notes and sketching and photoshop? Any opinion ?

The most significant improvement between this older version and the 2014 version is 2GB of RAM versus 3GB RAM. If you multi-task...or like to install a large variety of apps, like I do, the extra 1GB of RAM makes a world of difference.

difference between tab and note?

A tablet is like a touch screen computer with different apps to do certain things.A note is everything like a tablet except you can use an S-pen to draw like an artistusing certain apps you can download. But in summary a note uses an S-pen and a tablet does not.

can I read downloadedkindle books

Yes you can. You will need the Kindle app, available for free on the Play Store. This tablet is great for reading on. You can get the app here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.kindle&hl=en

how does ir compare to ipad

Not a comparison in my eyes. This has become my personal assistant . IPad is child's play compared to this.
