Urnex Cafiza Professional Espresso Machine Cleaning Powder 566 Grams - 3 Pack

First of all, I buy many products on Amazon. I may have written one other review. I am just so impressed by this product. This works great on drip pots as well. I have a ninja coffee maker with an insulated carafe. It’s 10 years old. I know this because I received it as a gift on the 30th birthday and I am now turning 40. I make coffee almost every day. I clean it from time to time with water, dish soap and a bottle brush but it just never seemed to never get clean. Many years ago, I had resigned myself to the fact that coffee stains just don’t come out. This was until yesterday when I used this product. I just let all the parts soak in hot water and about a teaspoon or two of the powder. Then, all the buildup and stains came off—with barely any scrubbing. It’s now spotless, and I would say I am speechless but I am writing this review. It was totally black inside from 10 years of coffee and it’s totally gone now. Just perfectly clean stainless steel. The build up came off in sheets (it was disturbing.) Worked on my thermos too and all the parts. I am going to do some of my to-go mugs next. I don’t have a picture of the contents of the carafe when I poured it out, but let me tell you it was many times darker than any coffee ever produced from this machine. Pictured in the bowl was just what came off the small stopper for the carafe. I had already cleaned it multiple times with soap and a sponge. Still had coffee stains. Then I let it soak in this solution and all the stains came off. It’s like I have a brand new pot! The coffee is also tasting amazing this morning!

Works well!

This worked quickly and easily to clean the stainless steel carafe that came with my Cuisinart coffee maker. It took just a few minutes. It rinses out easily and leaves no odor. The inside looks like new. Also, a little goes a long way. You need only 6 grams per liter of water. This container will clean my carafe about 60 times! That will last me 5 years at one cleaning a month.

I have used Cafiza cleaning powder since I worked in Starbucks a few years ago, so when my family opened a cafe, I put this on the TOP of things that we needed. They doubted me until I showed them the cleaning power of Cafiza. It gets the thick stuck on coffee stains on urns, caked on gunk of convection oven trays, cleans the espresso machine, cleans milk off of the inside of steaming wands, gets grill gunk off of grill brushes, etc. You name it, and Cafiza will probably clean it! I WISH I was sponsored by Cafiza to write this review, but I’m not. Just a happy happy customer who won’t clean with anything else! The value for your dollar is too good to beat for a product that performs so well with so little! I go through about one of these per month-month and a half with daily use in my machine, steaming wands and grill brushes, and weekly or monthly use on my runs and other appliances that develop buildup.

I used this product to clean my Hottop coffee roaster and also a stainless percolator. In both cases it worked as expected, removing baked-on residue with no scrubbing required. I saw this product in use on a youtube video and decided to give it a try. While scrubbing is not necessary, soaking is: in fact, a great deal of soaking must be done to loosen heavily burned on coffee oils. After extended soaking the residue is very easy to remove with little more than running water and a light wipe with a rag. I realize now that I probably didn't need to purchase three bottles since I don't do daily cleaning of my equipment, but I did and am now set for a very long time. This product does what it does very well and I can't think of any reason not to give it a full five star rating.

Water was passing through my 1-yr-old and still very pristine Gaggia Classic Pro group head and steam wand perfectly fine, but flow completely stopped through the filter basket for several days (and my morning cup is what gets me going 😢). I took apart and cleaned out the solenoid valve, screen, and portafilter and flushed with a vinegar solution from the tank. Absolutely no change. I finally cleaned the portafilter parts and backflushed 5 cycles with this cleaning powder with dramatic improvement...am back to making delicious coffee again!
