Very easy to use but I doubt it’ll cook 8 cups of (uncooked) rice. I made 4 cups and cooked it came to the near top. If I had done 8c it would have been like the episode of I love Lucy when Ricky was cooking rice and it was coming out the pot! It’s fine for us I think the 4 c will be more than we need.

Personally, I love this rice cooker! I had a more fancy one, then I sadly dropped it and it broke. I was on a budget, so I got this one to replace it. If you know the right things to do, your rice will come out delicious! Just like any other rice cooker for the most part. Pros: It is big and holds a lot of rice! I cook for a lot of people quite often, so I really needed a big one. The rice for me comes out nice and fluffy. I add a little extra water, salt, and butter to my rice and it is great. Does everything it needs to do. The bowl comes out which is great to wash my rice and store any leftover rice. The price is so good considering it works as it should! Cons: The click for when it is done is very low and hard to hear. It doesn't beep, the switch just goes up and that's all you might hear. It is so easy to miss. That is truly the biggest down fall for this reason.... if you leave the rice on warm after the click it will start to brown on the bottom and overcook the rice. So, you have to keep an eye on it and unplug it and/or take the bowl out so it does not overcook. I check on my food often, so it is fine for me. But that can be a huge dealbreaker for many. The measurements that give you are not exact. I am truly not sure why. But I use my own measuring tools and it is a super easy fix.

In the last year and a half, I've used this about twice a month. Sometimes one cup of dry rice and I've made as much as 4 cups. Mostly Jasmine and Basmati. For $20 this thing is a steal. You can spend a whole lot more on a rice cooker and I would love to try the rice from one of those, just to see if there's a difference. Two cups in 20 minutes, I leave it in there another 10-20 minutes on the warming setting and it comes out beautifully. I know Uncle Roger's plays fun tunes but I really like this one. And its not a case of liking it for $20, I recommend this one to family and friends.

I bought the cheapest big one on Amazon because I wasn't sure how much I would use it. I was all wrong. It is awesome! I use it for all types of rice, quinoa and I learned how make spanish rice. We are now creeping up on two months since purchase and it works great. I don't know how it "knows" whether I am making one, two or three cups of dry....but it does. Other times I load it up with onions, rice and a can of diced tomatos. Stir and press one button. Come back in an hour to wonderful Spanish rice. (spices at your discretion) I originally bought a much more expensive Z brand. It worked well too, but was too small. Go for it, you won't regret it. EDIT: I bought the 8 cup dry one. Still in love with it.

The item came later than expected and the box seemed like it had been opened and sloppily taped shut again. It was a flimsy manufacturer’s box- torn cardboard; not a shipping box. But the item I had ordered seemed to be fine and all the the pieces were there. Maybe something happened in transit - like vehicle accident. Anyway, the rice maker works well and I appreciate the glass lid because I can see the rice cooking inside. It is easy to tell if I need to add more water or not. The removable insert pot sticks a little so I found it is best to spray with non-stick oil before adding rice and water. Bottom line is this is a good little rice maker and the price was fair. Amazon usually does a great job at delivering stuff I order but I think there was a problem in transit with this item.

Purchased as a gift for my son in law. He was thrilled because he is not a great cook and this takes all the guess work out of it.the size is perfect and easy to use.

Great little rice cooker for a reasonable price.

This has been wonderful. It works great for the price. I don't leave it on "warm" for too long, as the bottom of the rice will brown quickly. I like to add a little more water than usual when making rice in this cooker. Assume it will be a bit dryer than usual, and don't wait too long before checking in it after the "cook" timer finishes. Once I hear the button pop, I fluff my rice and add some butter or coconut oil and dish it out. This is overall an EXTREMELY handy appliance and makes cooking rice a breeze. We use this often. For the price, this thing has been awesome and we'll loved.
