does it leave any residue on surfaces nearby?

Mine leaked oil all over my wine fridge and ruined the paint.

Can I use my own oil with this?

Yes, you can use your own oil. Just make sure that your oils don't need to be heated up.

According to the reviews, a rep told a customer that this cannot be ran more than 4 hours a day, why is it being advertised differently?

I never heard that and ran it continuously...

Mine stopped working in 3 months can I replace?

Mine stopped working after 6 weeks. I think they posted something about putting vinegar in it and running it on a cycle.
