Review: A fine book for history lovers or just scholarly people alike. I can highly recommend this edition from everyman's library. Review: A brutal precision suffuses the writing of a historian living in brutal times, and one wonders which is worse, the atrocities Tacitus records, or the compactness with which he evokes them only to dismiss them.

No this is not the fault of my local delivery as the packages have come intact both times with no scuffs.

Was not prepared for the amount of information and history in this book. It has quickly become a book that I frequently pick back up. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys roman history. Also contains an early non-Christian account of the crucifixion of Jesus.
