Are they hollow or solid gold?

They are hollow and light. Which means that they dent easily. Handle gently.

I lost one of the backings for the screwbaback earrings while changing them for my 7 yr old daughter. Where can I find replacement backings?

Sorry, I don't know. I bought screw backs so I wouldn't lose them! So far they've worked fine. Good luck.

Are the posts gold plated or solid gold?

They are solid gold. The sphere is hollow though, so they are very light.
