This insert worked perfectly in my previously owned 2 qt County Line mason jar pitcher. It’s designed for this size pitcher and the sizing was perfect. Allowed me to avoid having to buy the complete set available from County Line for cold brew. I wanted to start making cold brew concentrate and this worked perfectly to that end. There is a bit of a learning curve and debate over how much coffee to put in. I personally did 2 cups of coarse ground Kirkland coffee which fit right to the top of the insert. I poured filtered water thru the coffee grounds, being sure to move them around as I went to ensure they were fully soaked. Once done, the lid went on perfectly with the seal on this attachment. No leaking at all when flipping it upside down to mix around. The metal mesh seems like it’s of good quality and will stand up to consistent use. The gasket on top is firmly attached. After 24hrs in the fridge, I had super strong coffee concentrate ready to use. It’s easy enough to clean, just dump out your grounds and wash with warm soapy water. The price is great when you consider the savings of making daily coffee at home!

I love the county line products. I have several of the lids that make my 2 quart mason jars into pitchers. This makes making iced coffee super easy cold brew coffee is much better than brewing and cooling down your coffee.

I bought this in 2021 and have used it quite a bit. It's held together well and is easy to clean. I have hard water and the only piece of advice I could post is that after you wash it in the dishwasher, either scrub it with a brush or blow air through the screen. I get a build up of whatever is in my hard water, which ends up preventing the water from freely flowing through the screen.

You add ground coffee (coarse ground is recommended, I use around 3 oz by weight of ground Cameron's coffee for 2 quarts) then fill your jar with water, add the jar lid, and let it steep in your refrigerator for 24-48 hours. Once it's steeped as long as you like, lift the filter out and discard the grounds; you may need to rinse the filter to remove all of the coffee grounds, but then it can go straight into your dishwasher.Durable: I've had this filter for a few months now and it's held up to my toddler dropping it and playing with it as well as multiple washes. There are no signs of wear and it still looks brand new.Consistent end result: This one is simple but so important - consistent results. I know that if I measure the same amount of coffee into the filter and steep for the same amount of time, I'll have the same flavor and strength of coffee every time. It’s perfect for making cold brew. Fits in the mason jar pitcher and none of the coffee grinds leak through it. Would definitely buy again.

This steel filter is definitely exceptional quality. I have been cold brewing my coffee for about 5 years and I've tried several different methods. I used a Filtron system for the first 4 years and I like the idea of steel over plastic for brewing by far. It fits perfectly in the quart jar and is a simpler, tidier way of brewing. It was easier to manage and doable for placing in the fridge while brewing. I've always brewed on the countertop.The only downside for me is that I've always brewed about a pound bag of coffee with each brew and a batch lasts my husband and I a week to 10 days. I am accustomed to having a concentrate that we like at about a 1 to 4 ratio (coffee to hot water). This filter held about 1/3 of a bag. I like to drain the coffee and fill it again with clear water to be sure and get ALL the coffee out of the grounds; then I mix it all together. With this filter I ended up with a more diluted batch that won't last as long, but that does not take away from the fact that this is a very nice filter.I would like to add that I had a gallon-size Mason jar on hand that I wanted to try out. The mouth was a bit large for the filter and I found a plastic lid that fit over the mouth of the jar. We cut a hole in it to fit the filter and hold it in place at the mouth of the jar. I expected to use it for a batch of cold-brew. Not a good plan - but would probably be great for loose tea leaves with hot water for a large batch of tea. This got me thinking. . . I would buy a larger version of this filter for my gallon jar if I could get one. Hint. Hint.
