Thomas & Friends: The Adventure Begins [DVD]

An Excellent Thomas Movie. This movie is the 2nd best Thomas Movie. All characters got a nice introduction in the movie. Edward and Gordon get a nice intro and their relationship is good. James gets a nice intro with a great black livery, Annie and Clarabel get a nice intro before becoming Thomas' coaches, and speaking of Thomas, he's a got a nice intro with a nice green LBSC livery. The stories are retold from season 1 in this order in the movie, Edward and Gordon, The Sad Story of Henry, Thomas and Gordon, Thomas' Train, Thomas and the Trucks and finally Thomas and the Breakdown train. The only flaw is that Henry was not in his old shape or his old personality. Henry is still a worrier and he does not have his old shape. The animators made James Black, Thomas Green, but not Henry in his old shape. Also the runaway and crash from James is awesome! and the songs Really Useful Engine and Troublesome Trucks are great! Nice to see Judy and Jerome (the breakdown train) and Glynn the coffeepot engine is cool as well. This is a perfect movie for someone who has not seen Thomas before. Overall 2nd Best Thomas Movie!

I remember having the VHS of the original series and I will admit, I was a little worried about this retelling, but it really blew my expectations away. The retelling is beautifully done, making me laugh and be at the edge of my seat. The writing is wonderful, adding something more to the characters yet still have the characteristics that many fans adore. I honestly have no favorite scene in this since I just can't choose. I've rewatched it four times already and I'm really happy that I bought it. I really hope too that there will be more retells like this with CGI even though I wasn't used to it at first, it really brought a personal touch to it even though the original is nostalgic for me. All in all, a wonderful buy that I recommend to all fans of this franchise.

The best! I was very happy with the story about Thomas and how he came to Sodor. My grandson and I watched it at least four times. We watched it on Amazon Video and they delivered the video without any issues. See the video if you're little one's are Thomas & Friends fans, and if your little ones aren't, they probably will be after watching Thomas & Friends: The Adventure Begins. I recommend this video for the kids and while you're at it check out the rest of Thomas & Friends videos. Like this one, they are full of adventure and teachings about doing good deeds and being a good friend. My grandson and I love this Thomas & Friends adventure.

Our four year old grandson is quite taken with every type of vehicle known to man. Thomas the Tank Engine is no exception! The nice thing about this DVD is that it introduces all the favorite characters seen in the PBS series, other DVDs, and in books. This came on April 19th and our grandson and his twin sister have already watched it three times here at our home. It has become their "quiet time"... relaxing with beloved characters easily recognized by young children. Before their mother picks them up, they need to wind down from the day's activities and this is a reassuringly good way to do just that.

My son loves Thomas the train. This was a birthday gift for him and he was super excited.

My family (especially my 3 year old son) enjoyed this movie/special, particularly in HD from Amazon. It was a good way for us to learn about the origins of Thomas and how he got to the Island of Sodor. However, we didn't think the story was as good or as developed as some of the other Thomas movies. Still a great way for our family to spend an hour watching TV together.
