Nature of Florida, 2nd Ed (Waterford Press Field Guide)

The book is nicely illustrated with additional information for amateur identification of natural flora and fauna of Florida. Found this evening primrose on a walk and was easily able to find the information.

Love this book! I’ve gifted it a few times. I think it’s great for kids and adults as an introduction to Florida’s nature, as it just highlights the most common species. I don’t mind the illustrations vs real photos because I feel like they highlight the identifying details. My only wish is that they included some butterflies!

My son (6) carries this with him every time we go to the park. The color illustrations make it easy for him to pick out common native plants and animals in our area.

Great Book. Great pictures. Great information. Well organized. Great for young or young at heart. We don't live in Florida but visit often, and this is well worth taking.

This book fills the needs of tourists or those who want a simple easy to read overview of Florida's familiar plants, animals and natural attractions. Has very nice and well done drawings. I work at a business in the Everglades area with a lot of tourist traffic and we can't keep this book on the shelf, it sells so quickly. It outsells the more intricate and complicated books on these subjects. If you want want a book with simple, quick and easily referenced descriptions, this is it!

I was very pleased with the quality of the book and how nicely organized it is. I just wished that these types of books would point out which wild plants are edible and which are not. The pictures are very nice and live like. I would definitively recommend this book.

This is a lazily written field guide. It is organized fairly well, has good pictures, but leaves out 90 percent of the common wildlife you will see in florida. why only have one type of cyress, or one type of fig if there is only two native species in florida. really don't know why they put trees in there actually, didn't show bark and only had a few types of trees. In summary if you are an old lady that wants to see some pretty pictures of some song birds, sea shells (I am glad they included this actually) and wildflowers you may see on trail this book may be for you.
