Do the molds have to be greased for caramels?

No. I chill and they pop right out

Has anyone experienced a plastic smell or taste? I purchased another brand that made my caramels taste like plastic.

This candy mold is fine. Quite a change from cutting carmels by hand! No odd smell, no off taste. Great product.

At the bottom of the description it does say that it is BPA free.

What is the easiest way to pour hot caramel into the 80 square molds

I just used this mold the first time for caramels. A little apprehensive, but I found it very easy to pour the hot caramel. I started pouring in the middle of the mold and worked out towards the edges. I used a tiny rubber spatula to help the caramel spread. My caramel recipe filled the tray perfectly.
