Can the fur cover of this pet bed be removed and washed?

If you are talking about the upper cover - yes it can. But the all cover can't

I understand you CANNOT completely zip off the cover. So, how much can you unzip it? Back to the corner on each side?

It opens,or unzips like a flap. All but one side.

Is the exterior removeable to wash it or does the entire bed have to be washed?

The whole bed has to be washed.
