the 36" panels are a different product. when opened as a fence there is not hardware to secure it to anything, however as the manufacuterer we seel feet that can be attached to the panels to make it freestanding

between the bars is 2", between panels it's 2 1/2"

Is the gate in this fence configurable so it can be located in the segments where it is needed?

the gate is the end as it has retractable pins to connect to the other end to make a complete circle. you can just rotate the pen as needed for the gate to be where you need it. in essence if you were using it as a barrier and not an xpen you can always disconnect by undoing the hinges in any section

How much does the open space between the bars measure?
