Great informative book

Have not got time as yet to study

I like that the author trace the origin and insertion of the muscles to the needles, the kind of grip but I don’t like the picture. I wish it will give better visualization of where to approach the limbs. The pictures are too close to the point that u don’t even see no more what part of Limb is the are being treated

Needed this for work. Exactly what I was expecting

As a licensed acupuncturist who has successfully performed tens of thousands of treatments on thousands of patients, I can attest to the fact that “Dry Needling” or Trigger Point Therapy” as it’s sometimes called, is basically sham acupuncture. In the state where I practice, physical therapists lobbied the state legislature and are now allowed to perform dry needling - which uses the principles of acupuncture at its most basic level but that’s where similarities lie - on patients with just a weekend seminar. Something I studied or performed clinic rounds totaling at least 2300 hours. Physical trainers are even doing this. Just to make a few more bucks. Dry needling always causes pain and discomfort, whereas real acupuncture in the hands of someone talented will rarely. I base this through the firsthand account of countless patients who stopped receiving these treatments as a result of this pain - and this was performed by a licensed acupuncturist who basically only used this method. Imagine a PT with a weekend seminar. Even worse, PTs using this method have undoubtedly harmed patients - not only through basic misapplication resulting in issues like pneumothorax (documented) - but b/c they don’t realize the power of the medicine, and that the misuse of certain points for certain conditions can result in serious harm or even loss of life. I won’t even list one specific and fairly common condition, as PTs and such should not even be performing this and won’t bestow this knowledge. Because the medicine is so powerful that even a weekend course will elicit some results on some patients. And some of these patients will then ask these PTs if they can do points in for non-orthopedic issues as they’ve heard friends and such mentioned and they’ll do an hour’s research and use those points (actually this applies for certain orthopedic conditions too). It’s akin to me instructing a patient which exercises to do and how often because I worked in a PT clinic once. I do not wish any harm or discomfort to these patients. But for those who do, I wish nothing but all the legal consequences and so forth. You’re dabbling in something you have no real understanding of to help patients, but simply to make a couple bucks. This is karma, both professionally and otherwise.

I can not speak to content, but the hardcover book was delivered with damage to front cover and bent pages inside. This book was purchased at full price in "New" condition

I had purchases his first edition and I can't wait for this edition.. New chapters added for spasticity and tendon needling. No major changes in the technique though, which is expected. Almost all muscles were covered. It can't be any more better than this.

Seems like mainly a compendium of research with pictures thrown in. I am sure, this book given to a Physician or anyone with scientific depth in this area of expertise would love it.
