• Waterproof • Tear-Resistant • Travel Map National Geographic's Adventure Map of Greece is an invaluable tool for travelers seeking to explore the country's rich history, remarkable beaches or picturesque islands. Find cities and towns easily with the aid of a user-friendly index. Plan your route with the mapped road network complete with distances and designations for expressways, major and secondary routes along with tracks and highlighted scenic roads for those wishing to travel off the beaten path. Additional travel information includes airports and airfields, passes and tunnels, harbors, ferry routes, railways and border crossings. Among other pinpointed destinations are monasteries, castles, churches, mosques, caves, mines, ski resorts, spas, beaches, archeological sites, scenic viewpoints, national parks and UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The northern half of the country is covered from its borders with Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Turkey to the ancient city and Greek capital of Athens, including the World Heritage Sites at Meteora and Delphi. Inset maps show the islands of Kerkyra (Corfu) and Zakynthos (Zante). The country's southern half details from the Peloponnesus Peninsula down to the island of Crete, including the popular islands of Rhodes and Mykonos. Such an abundance of specialized content, not available on traditional road maps, makes the map the perfect companion to National Geographic's Greece Traveler Guide or any other guidebook. Every Adventure Map is printed on durable synthetic paper, making them waterproof, tear-resistant and tough — capable of withstanding the rigors of international travel. Map Scale = 1:710,000 Sheet Size = 37.75" x 25.5" Folded Size = 4.25" x 9.25" Review: Nice Map - Another high quality NatGeo map. Almost didn't buy it because one of the map photos appeared to show the northwest corner of Greece overlaid with a large mileage index table. Rest assured this is not so. If you plan trekking in the remote countryside, buy a map from the locals or (better yet) hire a driver or guide. Thanks to seller - map arrived quickly in mint condition. abh Review: Great maps! - These NatGeo maps are awesome! We bought ones for Türkiye, Greece, and Cyprus and loved using them all on a recent trip. Highly recommended!

Better than Google…
This was better than Google Maps, which is supposedly the best for navigating Greece, not for very small roads obviously. Helps with getting the overall lay of the land, and where notable sites are. But really, a true atlas would be better!

Has the newer roads on it
From appearances, it is up to date, but will know for sure when we actually use it this summer in Greece. The new roads appear to be on there. Last time our electronic devices seemed to send us on backroads for some reason and not the new roads and our map was too old to show us much. Looking forward to using this one (also hoping the electronic GPS based ones are updated before summer).

Robust construction, total coverage, and very clear detail - superb for planning a trip and getting distance perspective.
Greece is a big country with all sort of bits sticking out all over the place plus squadrillions of islands - and this gives a great overview with good detail considering its total coverage. We were looking at it to get an idea of the journeys involved by first flying into Athens for a few days and then island-hopping using ferries. In order to do the full job it is printed two-sided (with no annoying visible print-through) on plasticated waterproof paper that seems sturdy. The map also covers the connections with all neighboring countries, and it has all of the island of Crete. Ferry routes are shown in blue. As a route-planner and place-name guide it is excellent, and very useable for car journeys but obviously it won't go down to walking-trip level so once you've planned your trip using this to get an idea of distances and complexity you'll need to get individual walking maps for the islands/areas which you choose.
