The Beatles Illustrated Lyrics and the second volume follow-up were an inspiration to me while I was in school majoring in Fine Art. This is the better of the two however. I love The Beatles and the imagery their music inspired. The interpretive artwork in this book is exceptional and I consider it a necessary volume for my home library now that I was able to track down a copy. It is fun to just peruse at your leisure, or use as inspiration for your own creativity and art as I did. Keep in mind there is some nudity in this 300 page art book. ~ Kort

This is a great book. A different way to look at the lyrics with art. BUT...not for the coffee table if you have little ones....some graphics are nude and not every visitor wants to see their kid open the book. If you are a beatles lover and like art you will like this.

Excellent purchase

I ordered the book for my teen aged son who has been a Beatles fan for years (I got him hooked!) I received the book today and I wanted to check it out bvefore giving it to him and never seeing it again and as I was flipping thru the pages I was surprised by the nudity in the book. There is both animated nudity and nude photos as well as a nude photo of a young boy and girl standing side by side which in some states people have been locked up for child pornography over similar "art" photos. I guess I will wait a few years until I let him see it if at all. Otherwise the book is a good source of song lyrics and does have alot of nice Beatles related images. definitely a book that a adult Beatles fan will like.

My sister had the original 1974 or so not as colorful but I really like it! I sing the songs when though music

I remember this book as a child in the early 70s, my sister had it and I have from time to time thought of it. I was thrilled to receive it. It is in good condition and it has produced significant nostalgia for me, as I had already read it cover to cover. And the great illustrations, along with the quotes, were hidden in my memory for years, but now can be actualized and fully enjoyed.

This is a very good book having imagination of a great artist from his time put against lyrics for the Beatles songs. Very colorful, imaginative, abstract and influential work! I liked the overall physical quality of this book. Nice hard cover and binding , with a good thick glossy outer slip art cover for the book. The paper quality is nice as well for this book. The one I received is made in Britain. It's a nice addition to your collection when it comes to everything The Beatles and of/about The Beatles. ; ) The Beatles fans would like this book and any individual fascinated with good art work from the sixties/seventies will like it too I suppose. Alan Aldridge is the same man who did the cover art for Elton John's one the best work i.e Captain Fantastic And The brown dirt cowboy! Hope that helps and gives you a good lead to support your buying decision.

The book is marvelous it is a reminiscence and return to the golden sixties when I was 15 to 25. Lovely. Thansk a lot.
