Not compatible with Google phone!!

It is not compatible with a Google phone as it claims. The only reason my partner wanted this pair.

NOT compatible with PIXEL 2 or PIXEL 2 XL

Just got this delivered today. Was hoping it would work with my PIXEL 2, but right out of the box when plugging it, got a pop up on my PIXEL 2 (see attached screenshot) stating that, "Analog Audio accessory detected: the attached device is not compatible with this phone." Tried this on my phone (XL) as well as my son's PIXEL 2, and doesn't work on either one. Will return.
